SOUND BATH

‘Washed by gongs,

Cleansed in crystal,

I lay sparkling in the night sky

Of deep silence’

 

Please join me with your mat, blankets and cushions in the space of the circle for a unique sonic experience.  Lay down, be warm and cosy and close your eyes.  After leading you through some simple spoken relaxation techniques I will then bathe you in the pure tones produced by instruments such as Himalayan and pure quartz crystal alchemy singing bowls, gongs, voice, koshi chimes and other percussive instruments as they are sensitively woven together in intervals to reverberate over, around and throughout your body giving you a subtle massage, opening energy pathways, balancing brainwaves and precipitating deep relaxation.  From a space of inner stillness not only can your physical body tap in to its own innate healing capacity but an opportunity for self reflection can also arise as listening and communication skills become heightened and a sense of wholeness can be experienced.

 

It is an honour and a pleasure to share with you the precious tools that I have been working with on my own inner journey over the years.

Dhrupad is the most ancient form of Hindustani Music. The word Dhrupad is derived from Dhruva (fixed, steadfast) and Pada (word, composition). Dhrupad evolved from the earlier chanting of OM, the sacred syllable which claimed in Hindu canon to be the source of all creation.

Nourish your soul : Come and join me for a sweet, restful evening with the performance of Raag Yaman. You are welcome to bring a blanket and a cushion, sit in meditation or lie down and enjoy the restful sound of this Raga, which is also known as the Raga of tranquility. During this 20 minute performance, you can dive into the stillness and poetry of this music. After the performance there will be time of a Q&A.

Revitalise and wake up body, breath and senses. Working through the layers of skin, fascia, muscle and bone using yoga asana and pranayama with some added elements of Thai massage to bring stagnant awareness to awareness, allowing it to be released. Playful, explorative and inclusive of all abilities.

Alison David is a singer, writer and intuitive who helps people who know they have something important to share, to explore and transform their blocks and empower themselves, using music, voice work, self care and intention setting.

In her workshop she will explore with you the blocks to self expression, share her tips, and encourage you to have fun liberating your voices.

Unity Partner Yoga -Sevanti

'Unity Partner Yoga is accessible to all, bringing the community together through a sacred yet joyful practice of duo/group yoga. Born and raised in the forests of Sweden, Helena has lived 4 years off-grid in the ancient forestry of Sussex.  The session will begin with a sensual awakening of the 5 elements through the doors of the 5 senses, an alignment taught in both the Vedic and Tantric Scriptures. Through sequenced asana and breathwork, this journey will seek to enable your own recognition of the flows and patterns of the alchemical arising from pure consciousness into the physical world we inhabit.

This is a joyful session to reconnect to the part of you that loves to dance. Everyone one is welcome with no previous experience needed.

 

Emma Roberts has been teaching movement and dance for the past 25 years. She is an accredited 5 Rhythms teacher, a somatic educator, and a movement/drama therapist. She offers classes, workshops and retreats in the UK and internationally.

A workshop practically manifesting the wonderful meditation of Metta Bhavana (the cultivation of Loving kindness). Working through meditative Yoga asana and pranayama to observe body and breath with kindness; expanding to explore safe, compassionate and connective touch through guided Thai Massage techniques (you can come with a friend you would like to work with or come alone). We will also practise mantra and meditation to encompass the contemplation of Metta for all.

restorative yoga with oils -Nicole Allen

Take the chance to wind down from an energised morning and surround yourself with the amazing smells of essential oils complimenting the practice. Restorative yoga uses props such as pillows, blankets and bolsters to create a fully relaxing yoga practice where we hold asanasfor 5-7 minutes. 

You will leave the class feeling restored, open-minded, and at peace. Open to all abilities, variations taught. 

We use Doterra oils topically on the skin. They are the essence of a plant, a gift from the earth, distilled and prepared for you to bring the power of nature into your yoga practice. Inside many plants are hidden in roots, seeds, flowers, bark,which are concentrated, and these natural compounds are essential oils.

My teaching path is to ensure that Yoga & Mindfulness is inclusive for everyone..my training includes many paths including yoga for PTSD.

My classes tend to combine the principles of Hatha, Yin and Flow. staying true and rich to the philosophy of yoga.

I adore teaching all levels, am passionate about working with youths and have recently introduced the yoga & Mindfulness Ambassador Programme . Sharing my knowledge and inspiring youngsters with tools to regain balance and contentment.  I look forward to offering yoga to all.

BUDDHISM AND MEDITATION

 

In this talk, we will discuss what the Buddha discovered under the Bodhi tree which led to his radical freedom from suffering.  We will explore the different types of deep absorption or Jhanic states and how these phenomena are experienced in the mind-body, based on the direct experience of long-term meditators and Buddhist monks. We will look at how these Jhanic states lead to insight and the workings of this mind matrix.  We will detail the fruits of this practice and how one can begin to develop this profound state of deep absorption.  We will look at practices from the ‘Four Foundations of Mindfulness’ from the Satipatthana Sutta as well as preparatory practices from early Buddhist literature which support a more wholesome and steadier mind for deeper states of absorption. 

 

We will practice a guided meditation starting with loving-kindness and then move into the concentration of breath, weaving in the ‘seven factors of awakening’, inspired by the teachings from the Pali Suttas and the early Buddhist text, the Visuddhimagga. This meditation is to prepare the mind for ‘access concentration’ or deep absorption to enable insight into the nature of reality.

 

YOGA SUTRAS and MEDITATION

 

In this talk, we will explore the meaning of yoga according to the Yoga Sutras of Patañjali and Sāṅkhya philosophy.  We will discuss the nature of consciousness and the manifestation of our perceived reality according to Patañjali.  We will look at how our reality is comprised of the 3 gunas (subtle and gross matter) and how the practice of the eight limbs of yoga has a direct effect on our perception of reality.  We will unpack how and why certain practices provide us with a clear path towards different stages of samadhi or deep absorption resulting in our final liberation or kaivalya. 

 

We will look at examples of how one might apply certain aspect of the yoga sutras in a skilful and personalised way to benefit from this precious teaching.  At the end of the talk, we will practice meditation techniques described in the Bhysa or early commentaries on the Yoga Sutras.  These practices are designed to cultivate the right attitudes, poise and intentions which allow deeper absorption and happier states of mind as well as alleviate mental and physical hindrances which obstruct clear seeing.  

This workshop will explore the nature of consciousness and the manifestation of our perceived reality (prakṛiti) according to Patañjali.  We will look at how our reality is comprised of the 3 gunas (subtle and gross matter) and how the practice of the eight limbs of yoga has a direct effect on the gunas.  We will look at how and why certain practices provide us with a clear path towards different stages of samadhi or deep absorption resulting in our final liberation or kaivalya.  To conclude, there will be guided meditations to support sensory withdrawal, concentration, meditation and absorption.  There will be a short discussion at the end. 

Indian Classic singing - Miriam Kisters.

 As Indian music is purely devotional, the act of singing itself is prayer and the purpose is to dedicate yourself to the music. This way, we can get lost in the sound, bringing joy into our singing. 

 

In Indian culture, there are three pathways to God: 

Yoga Sanskrit, and Music . 

In this workshop we will explore and ancient Indian melody through the teaching method of ,call and response’.

I will begin this workshop by singing a Raga, so you can relax, take in the melody and enjoy.

Following that, we will gently start by exploring breathing and opening up the voice.

 

From  there, I will guide you through the basic melody of the Raga, through call and response. 

 

Indian singing is an amazing experience that is deeply relaxing, nourishing and does wonders for the tone of your voice.

Yoga Music Flow

A modern yoga practice can make your body stronger and more flexible but, for me, the connection between body, mind and soul outweighs those lovely bonuses. When we move and find stillness together, we find connection within ourselves and each other. Yoga helps your mind to stay present and within this process you may find moments of peace in your soul.

Lucy prides herself in being thoroughly inclusive and friendly, giving lots of different options for lots of different bodies.  She is  also a DJ and radio presenter so my music playlist is meticulously planned.  And I sometimes crack bad jokes.
