Acupressure massage

Acupressure Massage, received on a futon, is based on the traditional ancient Japanese Anma/Shiatsu style massage. Anma is Japanese for ‘press and rub’ and this therapy aims to stimulate the acupressure points in the head, neck, shoulders, spine and lower back. It is especially ideal for computer/desk-related tension and leaves the person feeling very relaxed, yet energised.

Deep tissue massage

This is a heavy pressure massage that is slow and strong, releasing fascia (connective tissue) and inner layer of muscles.

Indian head massage

Indian Head Massage (IHM) focuses on a specific wide range of exceptionally relaxing techniques applied to the scalp, neck, shoulders, arms and face, as well as energy-balancing applied to the three upper chakras.

This can help to relieve specific areas of muscular tension, discomfort, and amongst other holistic health benefits, it particularly helps to improve blood circulation and increases drainage to the head and neck areas.

Remedial Holistic massage

This uses techniques such as trigger point therapy, Reiki and Swedish massage to lull the body into a sense of calm.

The reflexes on our feet act as mirror images across the body.

Practiced for thousands of years, Reflexology is a Holistic therapy using ancient techniques. Reflexology is deeply relaxing and stimulates the body into healing itself by improving circulation, reducing stress, pain and restoring natural balance.

Sports Remedial and Deep Tissue  massage

Although this treatment was originally developed with athletes in mind, it isn't just for the sporting athlete and sports related injuries! It is a deep, beneficial treatment for all soft tissue aches, pains, and restricted movements. It addresses any problem areas of built up tightness and tension that may be causing you pain or discomfort. Sports & Remedial Massage greatly reduces the risk of injury by working on any niggles you may be experiencing, calming the muscular fibres, and giving those tired aching muscles some proper TLC!

Thai Massage

This is a 2500 year old art form designed to bring the body into perfect balance.

A sequence of gentle (but firm) pressure techniques with the thumbs, palms and feet will relax the muscle structure and quieten the mind. Light yoga style stretching is mixed into this massage helping to open the joints and increasing mobility, giving you a boost of energy.

In a treatment I will 'meet' your body and be guided by where your tension needs support to release.  Using the breath, intention, and Thai Massage techniques, you will receive a renewed sense of lightness and wellbeing as the sensation of 'holding' is transformed into spaciousness.

Thai Massage is performed on a mat on the floor, clients wear light, loose-fitting clothing. Oils can be added for extra relaxation.  It is suitable during pregnancy.
