COME AS YOU ARE - October Full Moon
Dear Yogacampers,
Well, what wild weather you've been having over there!
I'm writing from Waiheke Island, where spring is bursting into life, while you're being blown about by autumn storms. I hope you're all keeping safe and warm.
How are you in this dramatic change of season?
No matter what the earthly weather is, our trusted reliable moon continues its journey across the skies, connecting us all.
There's been some lovely activity in the YOGACAMP world, so I thought I'd share a little news under this Full Moon.
ROOTS & RITUALS
Samhain — remembering those we love
With Samhain just around the corner, we’re approaching a time traditionally set aside to honour those who have passed away.
As the days shorten and the natural world begins to turn inward, perhaps we might light a candle, share a story or simply take a quiet moment to
remember someone who is no longer with us.
I love how these ancient seasonal rituals invite us to pause amidst the busyness of life, to remember those who came before us and the people whose lives have touched our own.
Keeping their memory alive in our own intimate ways.
I WAS TALKING TO…
I’ve been catching up with our lovely Helen, who’s been in Greece working alongside Steve Bracken and Rupert Johnson. It sounds like they’ve had an extraordinary time exploring yoga, movement and the possibilities of the body.
Helen will be holding space alongside me throughout our Sussex weekend next summer, and when I asked her for a few thoughts about our theme, Come As You Are, she sent me these lovely words:
“For me Yoga is going with the body not against. Movement is a body holiday. Come as you are and allow movement to reveal itself in your own spaciousness.”
A body holiday — doesn’t that feel good?
And perhaps that’s exactly what YOGACAMP can be too.
A few days to move, rest, laugh, explore and give ourselves a little more space.
NEWS!
Our fabulous teacher Leo Taylor has just published Embodied Menopause, co-written with Charlotte Watts.
The book explores menopause through movement, body awareness and self-compassion, inviting us to approach the changes in our bodies with curiosity rather than resistance.
One question from the book’s introduction particularly caught my attention:
“What if menopause isn’t something to push through or fix, but an invitation to slow down, listen deeply, and reconnect with yourself?”
There’s something rather wonderful about that invitation, whatever stage of life we find ourselves in.
Huge congratulations to Leo and Charlotte!
Meanwhile, down in Devon…
Graina and Sheena have been busy weaving together what promises to be a fantastic programme for next summer.
There’s something particularly special about the intimacy of our Devon gathering, and I’m looking forward to sharing more of what they’re creating at the next new moon.
And who knows what else might emerge? We’re also exploring the possibility of some winter retreat gatherings in February. Nothing confirmed just yet, but I’ll keep you posted!
COME AS YOU ARE — YOGACAMP 2027
Listening to Helen’s words and reading about Leo’s work, I’m reminded why those four little words feel so right for next summer.
We don’t have to arrive feeling centred, flexible, rested or with everything figured out.
We simply come as we are.
And perhaps that’s where the magic begins.
Our Early Bird tickets are available for Sussex and Devon, and we’d love you to join us.
Until the Next Moon…
Stay cosy, look after one another,
and perhaps give yourselves a little body holiday,
even if it is 30 mins.
With love from the other side of the world,
Janee

TWO CAMPS, TWO BEAUTIFUL EXPERIENCES
June 24 -27
Expansive, lively and abundant.
Sussex brings together the wider YogaCamp community, with a rich variety of classes, workshops, treatments, music, sauna, food, conversations and spontaneous happenings.
There's a wonderful energy in the field — old friends reconnecting, new friendships forming, and so many different ways to spend your days.
We have some absolutely fabulous new teachers coming on board
with annoucements coming soon.
July 15 - 18
Spacious, close-knit and immersive.
Devon has its own particular magic. A smaller gathering where you get to know the people around you, conversations unfold naturally,
and there's time to settle deeply into the experience.
Both camps share the same heart, the same commitment to exceptional teaching,
and the same warm invitation.
Different qualities. Equal strengths.
Same roots. Different gatherings. Come As You Are.
